This content is either original content written by staff writers, provided by freelance writers or comes from our subscribed editorial services and licensed providers. The Great Debate/Discussion Forum

To encourage students to develop their persuasive writing skills we have launched The Great Debate discussion forum. The Great Debate runs as a standard web-based forum. Users of the forum are asked to sign up to become users of the forum (table below describes how we use that information). These forums will be moderated frequently for inappropriate content and all content that remains visible to the public is left there at the sole discretion of KSN Literacy Network Inc. Healthy debate and arguments are encouraged but postings that contain malicious, hurtful, hate-filled comments will be removed as soon as they are discovered. Comments that do not foster conversation will also be removed. Everyone is encouraged to share their thought out responses. KSN Literacy Network hopes that entire classrooms will pick a topic and post their classes arguments for other students and classrooms to read. Art Gallery

Kid Scoop News and ScoopTroop.ca publish illustrations as submitted to us by our readers in both the print and online edition. It is up to the parents of the children contributing this artwork to limit or monitor the amount of personal information that is included (ie. First Name, Last Initial, School Name, Age). KSN Literacy Network Inc. will publish the information as it is received. Please do not include any of the mentioned personal information if you do not want it made public. Contributed illustrations become the property of KSN Literacy Network upon receipt and cannot be returned to the artist. If you wish to retain the original we ask that you scan and email us a copy of your illustration. On occasion KSN Literacy Network Inc. will host special exhibitions and put artwork we have received on display for the public. Any revenues generated from these exhibitions are the sole revenues of KSN Literacy Network Inc. and will not be disbursed in any way to the artists.

Every time you visit our site, our servers log your visit by making a record of your IP Address and the type of Browser you are using. It tells us what part of the world you are viewing from and the various pages that you visit within the site. ScoopTroop.ca uses Google Analytics to keep track of visitor information. Forms

There are an increasing number of web programs that can "troll" the internet and collect email addresses from web pages when companies post their contact information. In order to reduce the amount of spam email we receive we have implemented a contact form. This form requires you to put your email address in. The purpose for this is so that we have an email address to respond to. We do not hold on to, save or archive any incoming emails. Email addresses are kept strictly confidential! We do not sell, redistribute or share email addresses that come to us in any format.

Potential advertisers requesting media kits are asked to fill in a form. They will be asked to provide us with a contact name, email address and or telephone number to discuss the possibility of advertising within the Kid Scoop News publication or online. We do not hold on to, save or archive any incoming emails and telephone numbers for any purpose other than to arrange for advertisement placements.

Login/Member Access

ScoopTroop.ca has a member area that you will be required to sign up for if you wish to access certain areas within the website. Parental Consent will be required at a future date. We do not sell ANY personal information obtained in opt-in lists to third parties. Contributed articles for parents, teachers and children are welcome. All articles received will be edited and proofed prior to publication. Acceptance of the article does not necessarily mean that it will appear online or in print. Publisher reserves the right to publish content that is received. Full byline credit and weblinks are provided to the author should Publisher include online or in print edition. The Publisher does not claim exclusive rights to your contributed content and recognizes it may appear in syndication elsewhere in print and on the web. Author however, guarantees that all content is theirs to contribute and does not violate any third-party copyrights. Advertisers may have tracking information associated with their advertisement. This tracking information will vary from advertiser to advertiser. None of your personal details provided in the community portions of this site can or will be shared with advertisers and their tracking devices with the exception of aggregate information that we have listed above under the Marketing heading.

Classroom Subscription

ScoopTroop.ca provides an online form for Teachers/Principals/Homeschool Teachers to fill in for the purpose of obtaining a free class set of the Kid Scoop News. This subscription remains in effect for the duration of the school year unless we hear in writing otherwise from the teacher/principal/homeschool teacher. Likewise the subscription will recommence in the new school year (starting each September) and teachers/principals/homeschool teachers will have an opportunity to revise their level of commitment to the subscription program (increase or decrease number of copies required, change location for deliveries, change contact name, opt out, etc.).

The information obtained from this form is strictly used for the purposes of fulfilling the subscription request. Your personal information (name, school name, address) will be shared with a third party courier company - again for the expressed purpose of fulfilling the subscriptions request. KSN Literacy Network currently uses Canpar for its delivery fulfillments. Please visit their website at: www.canpar.ca to obtain their complete privacy policy.

Commenting

Throughout our site visitors have the ability to provide comments on posted content (articles, photos, videos, etc.) Visitors are reminded to exercise caution on how much personal information is relayed in comments they post on ScoopTroop.ca as this information becomes public upon submit. If overtly personal details like phone numbers and addresses are posted moderators will delete these comments as soon as they are discovered for the protection of our visitors.
